Attach a file to a workorder

When working in the Workorder Center, there may be times where you'd like to attach relevant files to your workorder, so they can be viewed along with the rest of your workorder's details and information. For example, you might want to attach related PDFs, Excel sheets, or even emails that can help provide further insight on your workorder.

Note: You can add up to a maximum of 10MB worth of files to each of your workorders.

Once files have been attached to the workorder, anyone with access to the workorder record may download them. This download can consist of individual files, or of all files in .zip format. The workorder record automatically counts the number of files you have appended to the workorder in question. The count is displayed in the tab title, e.g., “Appendix (3)” if you have three files attached.

  1. Go to Inventory > Workorder Center.
  2. Select the workorder to which you want to attach a file.
  3. Select the Attachment tab.
  4. Click Choose File. File explorer opens.
  5. Selecting the file.
  6. Enter a name for your file.
  7. Click on Apply. The file is added to the list of attachments on the right-hand side.
  8. Optional: Select the Checking this box will allow this attachment to be shared with Inventory checkbox to copy the attachment to service inventory.
